Is it now the “new normal” for a president-elect to gather into his inner circle a cadre of advisers who, among other things, cozy up to white-power nationalists of the alt-right sensibility, deny climate change, tweet that fear of Muslims is “rational,” and advocate “conversion” therapy for those who do not identify as heterosexual?
Is it now the “new normal” for mainstream media to present that president-elect as if he were only a boorish, intemperate uncle who once made us all uncomfortable during a family gathering but has now reformed and is using his big-boy words since he is currently president-elect?
Are we, by going about our lives, muttering under our breath and hoping for the best, becoming the “new normal”?
Time for each of us to do some soul-searching, to get a grip and to make a plan, both individually and collectively, to undo the damage that is being done to our country.
