BANGOR — Austin Howard scored a career-high 19 points and was 4 for 4 from 3-point range as the University of Maine used a 22-1 second-half run to rout UM-Presque Isle 96-45 in men’s basketball on Saturday and end a three-game skid.

Ilker Er scored a career-high 15 points, Andrew Fleming added 14 and Marko Pirovic had 12 for the Black Bears (2-4), who shot 14 of 31 from beyond the arc (45.2 percent) and outrebounded the Owls 52-27.

UMPI (1-3) led 13-12 on Kevin Collins’ jumper, before Maine used a 15-2 run capped by Fleming’s dunk with 7:39 left. Maine then worked its way to a 40-20 halftime lead.

Maine started its big second-half run after a 3-pointer by Collins with 14:27 to play, and the Black Bears cruised, with Dennis Ashley, Howard, Danny Evans and Pirovic all hitting 3s.

OSWEGO ST. 67, COLBY 63: Patrick Stewart sank a pair of jumpers to give Colby (3-1) a 49-45 lead, but Oswego St. (4-1) outscored the Mules (3-1) 22-14 over the final 8:53 at Clinton, New York.

Jamir Ferebee sank a pair of free throws and Ian Schupp popped in a jumper to tie the game for the Lakers. Brian Sortino’s 3-pointer then gave Oswego the lead for good.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

UMASS-BOSTON 7, COLBY 2: Maren Brown scored twice and Alli Bianchini had two assists as the Beacons (7-2) cruised to a win over the Mules (0-3-1) in Boston.

The Beacons scored three first-period goals in a span of seven minutes to take a 3-0 lead. Carly Thomas put Colby on the board a minute into the second, scoring from Lily Santonelli.

MAINE 2, NEW HAMPSHIRE 2: Meghara McManus scored with 2:25 left in regulation, lifting New Hampshire (5-11-1, 4-6-1 Hockey East) to a tie with the Black Bears (3-11-1, 2-8-1) at Auburn.

Maine led 2-0 on a pair of second-period goals. Morgan Sakundiak opened the scoring 4:18 into the period with Brooke Stacey doubling the lead 2:13 later. Nicole Dunbar pulled New Hampshire within 2-1 in the second before assisting McManus on the tying goal.

BOWDOIN 3, HOLY CROSS 1: Tala Glass skated through traffic and poked the puck past goalie Tessie Salatas to give the Polar Bears (2-0-1) a 2-1 lead over the Crusaders (6-1) 10:35 into the second period in Brunswick.

Marissa Fichter stole the puck and netted a short-handed, empty-net goal from the blue line in the final seconds to stop a final threat from Holy Cross.

MEN’S HOCKEY

COLBY 8, BECKER 3: The Mules (3-0) scored four third-period goals to beat the Hawks (2-7) at the Bowdoin/Colby Face-Off Classic in Brunswick.

Cam MacDonald had a goal and two assists, while Connor Allison had a goal and an assist. The Mules led 4-2 after two periods.

WESLEYAN 2, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: George Blinick stopped 26 shots as the Cardinals (2-1) shut out the Huskies (4-4) at Middletown, Connecticut.

Wesleyan took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Andy Espinoza in the second period. Espinoza scored again in the third period. Vincent Lima and James Kline each had an assist.

SUNY-GENESEO 7, BOWDOIN 4: Conlan Keenan had two goals and an assist and Trevor Hills added two goals to lead the Knights (5-1-1) over the Polar Bears (2-2) in Brunswick.

Bowdoin took a 1-0 lead 45 seconds in the game on a goal by Cody Todesco. Trevor Hills, Andrew Romano and R.J. Burns then scored to give SUNY-Geneseo a 3-1 lead.
