I believe that everyone who receives Social Security as a retirement income receives a benefits letter from the Social Security Administration each year, in mid-December, that tells them how much they will receive each month for the coming year.

Last year Social Security recipients did not get a cost-of-living raise, apparently because our government officials felt that we did not need a raise and the money could go toward supporting other programs.

On Dec. 15, I received my Social Security benefits letter, and the figures are the same as last year’s. Looks like no increase for us old-timers this year, either!
