No one was hurt but two dogs perished after a fire swept through a single-family home in Parsonsfield Saturday night, a fire official said.

Kezar Falls Fire Chief Kenny Burbank said crews arrived at 120 Lost Mile Rd. after receiving a report of a fire about 6:10 p.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the home.

No cause of the fire has been determined, Burbank said, and the state Fire Marshall’s office will investigate the blaze, Burbank said.

The home was a total loss, Burbank said. The Red Cross is assisting the one person who was living there to find shelter.

Crews from five surrounding towns spent more than an hour bringing the flames under control, Burbank said.
