GORHAM — The Little East Conference announced its weekly women’s lacrosse awards Monday afternoon including University of Southern Maine senior midfielder Heather Everett’s (Waterboro, Maine/Massabesic) selection as the Defensive Player of the Week.  The weekly LEC honor was the second of Everett’s standout career at USM.

In the Huskies’ lone game last week at the University of New England, Everett had six ground balls, six draw controls and caused four opponent turnovers.  She also chipped in with two goals and one assist.

Through the first two games this season, Everett has tallied three goals and three assists to go along with a team-leading 10 ground balls, nine draw controls and six caused turnovers.

The Huskies, 1-1 on the season after a 20-2 win over Thomas College yesterday, are scheduled to play Saint Joseph’s College at Memorial Field in Portland on Wednesday (7:00 p.m.).
