STETSON —Raymond John Provencal Sr., 77, passed away on March 17, 2017, with his family at his side.

He was born in Old Orchard Beach, Maine on Nov. 12, 1939, son of the late John and Irene Provencal (Pettengill).

For over 20 years, Raymond worked as a shipping supervisor at the former Arlen Box Company in Kennebunk, Maine, then moved on to a Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, and finally retiring from Curlew Brothers in Saco. After his retirement, Raymond and his wife, Helen, moved to Stetson, Maine.

Raymond was many things to many people – a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friendly neighbor.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen Provencal of Stetson; two sons, Raymond Provencal Jr. of Saco and Frank Provencal and fiancé Troy Dachowski of Biddeford; daughter Pamela Provencal of Stetson; two sisters, Nancy Gallant and her husband Edward of Hollis, and Evelyn Glaude of Old Orchard Beach; six grandchildren, Marcus Stover, Matthew Provencal, Amanda Stover, Stefanie Stover, Abigail Provencal, and Kyle Provencal; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial remembrance will be held on Friday, March 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the private residence of Frank Provencal at 28 Greenfield Lane, Biddeford, Maine or call (207) 710-9493.
