We are absolutely thrilled that Samantha Schnare wrote a favorable review of O’Reilly’s Cure in MaineToday Magazine (Page M24, March 23), because we enjoy it also. Not so much the headline writer’s characterization of Scarborough as “uninspiring” and Ms. Schnare’s description of it as “lackluster.”
Most of us who live here appreciate this family-oriented town, which has remained responsive to its residents and loaded with locally owned establishments. Sandwiched between Old Orchard Beach and the city of Portland, both of which are, admittedly, not lackluster or uninspiring, causes us to value our small-town vibe.
Maybe these rather unkind characterizations are actually beneficial, because readers will not realize how cool, livable and desirable our town really is!
