Bruce Lastra, D.O., joined the staff at Bridgton Obstetrics-Gynecology located at 15 Hospital Drive in Bridgton.
Lastra earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford. He completed his residency at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital/St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac, Mich.

Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice hired Sonya Purington as director of marketing and development.
Purington, of Greene, brings 13 years of experience in brand development, communications strategy, fundraising and leadership to AHCH. Most recently, she served as the director of marketing and communications for Make-A-Wish Maine.

Irving Faunce was named executive director of Woodlands Memory Care of Farmington, which is scheduled to open in the fall.
Faunce, of Wilton, previously served at Maplecrest Rehabilitation and Living Center in Madison.

The Iris Network hired a new eye doctor to its low vision clinic.
Jamy Borbidge, an optometrist working at Eyes on Rosemont with significant low vision clinical experience at the Veterans Administration, will work at the clinic two days each month starting in February.
Jaime Burns was recently hired by The Iris Network as a recreation and volunteer coordinator.
She will assist both residents of Iris Park Apartments and students of The Iris Network rehabilitation center.

Paul Muehle has been named the new maintenance/materials manager of New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland. A veteran of more than eight years employment with NERHP, he began his tenure with the hospital in the materials management department prior to assuming roles in the local business office and most recently as environment of care coordinator. Previous to his employment with NERHP, he owned and operated his own business.

Vu Ho, M.D., joined the medical staff at Mid Coast Hospital.
He joins the team of four board-certified pulmonologists, offering diagnosis, evaluation, and management of lung conditions and sleep disorders. He holds four board certifications in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine.

PROMOTIONS
Susan Maxwell, R.N., was named director of nursing at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Residence, located at 1133 Washington Ave. in Portland.
Maxwell, of Cape Elizabeth, was previously the MDS Director at St. Joseph’s. She has worked in the aging services field for 20 years.
Prior to joining St. Joseph’s, she was the director of nursing services with Piper Shores in Scarborough.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS
Eric Meyer, president and chief executive officer of Spurwink, was appointed to Maine’s 21st Century Economy and Workforce Task Force.
Meyer will be one of 16 members representing the interests of Maine businesses that employ fewer than 1,000 workers. Spurwink employs nearly 750 employees in 14 of Maine’s 16 counties.

Angela Cole Westhoff was named the new executive director of the Maine Dental Association.
Westhoff, of Oakland, has more than 16 years of experience managing nonprofits in health care and public health in Maine. She is the current executive director of the Maine Osteopathic Association, where she has served as executive leader and chief lobbyist for the past eight-and-a-half years.

AWARDS/RECOGNITIONS
Cassandra Parsons, assistant professor of pharmacy practice at Husson University, was recognized with the 2016 Distinguished Young Pharmacist in Maine Award from the Maine Pharmacy Association. The award recognizes individuals who make outstanding contributions to their state’s pharmacy association and community.
Parsons’ career began at 15 years old as a pharmacy technician in retail. Over time, she gained experience working for pharmacies at Wal-Mart, CVS, and Rite Aid.

GENERAL
Saco Bay Physical Therapy has leased a 2,200-square-foot medical office space at 45 Western Ave. in South Portland.
