SACO — The Thornton Academy boys lacrosse team picked up a big 15-9 win over South Portland on Tuesday afternoon.

C.J. LaBreck led the Trojans with five goals on the day, while Noah Edborg and John Giroux added hat tricks.

Ean Patry had a solid outing in the cage, racking up 16 saves.

Baseball

Richmond 5, Old Orchard 1

Despite outhitting Richmond 7-5, the Old Orchard Beach baseball team fell to Richmond 5-1 on Tuesday.

Trailing 1-0 in the third, OOB would tie the score on a passed ball that resulted in a run. Richmond responded the following inning by getting having a runner steal home to regain the lead. Richmond would add three more runs in the following 3 innings to secure the win.

Dylan Creswell led OOB with two hits while Thomas Fregeau also added a pair of hits.

Wells 11, Poland 3

The Warriors topped Poland 11-3 to improve to a solid 7-3 record this spring.

Ryan Sousa had a strong performance for Wells, pitching a complete game.

Softball

Richmond 17, Old Orchard 2

Richmond cruised to a 17-2 win over OOB on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, a handful of Seagulls had solid outings. Zoe Young hit two doubles, while Morgan Howlett-Brown added and RBI. Meghan Pelletier also added a single.

Girls Tennis

Gorham 5, Sanford 0

The Rams prevailed with a 5-0 sweep of Sanford Tuesday afternoon.

Jocelyn Bolt topped Sanford’s Alaina Parison 6-1, 6-0, while Alli Plante fell to Whitney King 6-0, 6-0. Jenna Cowan would then top Sanford’s Hannah Miller 6-1, 6-0 to round out the singles competition.

Mariah Parison and Emilee Mathieu then fell to Gorham’s Avery Arena and Delaney Burns 6-1, 6-1 in doubles play, while Saoirse Herlihy topped Kim Works and Anna Johnson 9-7, 6-3.

Boys Tennis

Thornton Academy 5, Windham 0

The Trojans improved to 9-0 this spring with a 5-0 sweep on Windham on Tuesday.

Dariy Vykhodtsev won his singles match 6-1, 6-1 while teammate Jack Xiao took a 6-0, 6-1 decision. Balasz Balati rounded out the singles competition with a 6-3, 6-2 win. John Ma and Caleb Richard then took a 6-2, 6-1 doubles win, while Asher Thompson and Adam Lovejoy won their doubles match 6-0, 6-0.
