SANFORD — SIS Bank is once again serving as the Gold Sponsor for the annual Randall’s “Run for the Gym 5K” road race, supporting the Nasson Community Center and Little Theater for the 15th consecutive year.

This year’s race will take place on Saturday, July 1, as part of the Sanford/Springvale Fourth of July Celebration. As one of the most popular running races of the season, the 15th Annual Randall’s Road Race is open to the general public and will start at 8:30 a.m. from Nasson Common (457 Main St., Springvale).

Race-day registration begins at 7 a.m and participants can choose to run or walk the five-kilometer (3.1 miles) distance.

“Nasson Community Center continues to serve the community and promote the importance of health, wellness and the arts through its numerous programs and activities,” said SIS Bank President and CEO Mark Mickeriz. “We are honored to maintain our support and sponsorship of this fun and exciting event that so many look forward to each year.”

At race completion, the first and second overall male and female runners will be presented and awarded with cash prizes. Additionally, the top three male and female finishers in each age group (starting at 10 and grouped in five-year increments) will also be recognized.

This year’s race will again include the option to register and run as part of a two-person relay team, as well as a free “Fun Run” course beginning at 9:30 a.m. for kids ages nine and under.

Entry fees are $20 for the general public, $10 for each high school and under and $10 for each team member entering as a relay. The first 150 runners registered will receive a free t-shirt, and a raffle will be held for all participants after the race.
