SCARBOROUGH — Therese A. Piette, 100, of Scarborough died on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Pine Point Center in Scarborough.

She was born on March 27, 1917, to Valmore and Emma (Houle) Ruel in Ste. Pie, Canada. She graduated from St. Andre’s High School in Biddeford.

In 1940, she married Henri Piette at St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford. They shared 48 years together until his death in 1988.

Therese started work as a room girl at Peppell until 1970. She then became a chamber maid at the Holiday House at Pine Point for 25 years, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting sweaters and mittens for her family. She loved all the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her five brothers, Robert, George, Urbain, Lucien and Jean-Paul Ruel.

Therese is survived by: a son, Ronald Piette, and his wife, Maureen, of Saco; a daughter, Doris Lynch, of Scarborough; five grandchildren, Julie Fox, James Lynch, Nicole Reardon, Andrea Seaman and Michael Lynch; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
