Bath Summer Arts will be offering a weekly half-day art and music camp in downtown Bath during the month of July. Bath artist/ educator Anne Hebebrand along with her musician/educator daughter Elise Jablow will be offering four weekly sessions of music and art at the Bath Dance Works location at 72 Front St. for children ages 4-9.

Each session will last 2 1/ 2 hours and explore a topic through art and music. Topics relating to the Maine Midcoast include learning about ocean life, the environment, animals and music drawing from Bath’s rich history and surroundings. Children will learn new songs, play music, paint, draw and work three dimensionally.

Hebebrand is a new resident to Bath and looks forward to teaching in her new hometown.

She is a teacher as well as an artist, knowledgeable in standards based curriculum, collaboratively working with classroom teachers and community partners. Hedebrand was named the Connecticut Art Education Association’s Outstanding Secondary Arts Educator in 2012.

Jablow is based in New York City, where she is a performer and head music teacher at Aaron School, a school for children with special needs. She recently received her Master of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University where she is employed a private voice instructor. She was just named Executive Director at Sparkidz, a Saturday program for children with special needs, where she has taught for the last two years. She has taught percussion and ukulele to young children and their parents at Columbia’s Music Explorers program and strings to very young audiences with the New York Philharmonic’s Concerts for Very Young People.
