PLYMOUTH, Mass. — Patrick Dorrian scored from third on a third-strike wild pitch with two outs in the 13th inning as the Plymouth Pilgrims rallied for an 8-7 win over the Sanford Mainers in a New England Collegiate Baseball League game Friday night.

Sanford (10-19) built a 7-0 lead with the help of a two-run homer in the fourth inning by Shaine Hughes, a two-run shot by Colby Maiola in the fifth and an RBI single by Maiola during a three-run sixth, but Plymouth (15-13) fought back with a six-run rally in the bottom of the sixth.

Tyler Wyatt drove in the tying run with a fielder’s choice grounder in the eighth.

Hughes had a pair of hits for the Mainers.

PORTLAND 10, AUGUSTA 1: Luke Hill had three hits, including a double, as Portland beat Augusta in its opening game at the state tournament in Augusta.

Dom Denico and Patrick Rush each had two hits for Augusta.

AUGUSTA 6, SANFORD 2: Alec Byron and Patrick Rush each hit a pair of singles as Augusta bounced back from its opening loss.

Owen Roberts led Sanford with two hits.

BABE RUTH 14

AUGUSTA 5, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Akira Warren struck out eight while pitching a shutout as Augusta won the opening game of pool play at the state tournament in Augusta.

AUGUSTA 10, PORTLAND 2: Nick Barber hit two triples and drove in four runs as Augusta improved to 2-0 in pool play.

Cole Walters had a pair of hits for Portland.

TRI-COUNTY 4, SOUTH PORTLAND 3: Keenan Latson and Isaac Holland each hit two doubles to lead Tri-County to a win over South Portland.

Brady Downing struck out seven over six innings to earn the win.

EMPIRE LEAGUE

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 6, PUERTO RICO 2: Kyle Schade broke a scoreless tie with a two-run triple in the sixth inning and Parker Franklin drove in three runs as the Surge beat the Islanders in Old Orchard Beach.

Schade went 3 for 4 and Mike Davis hit an RBI double for OOB. Casey Cannon picked up the win, allowing one run on one hit and five walks in seven innings.

TWILIGHT LEAGUE

EDGE ACADEMY 4, ON TARGET 0: Corey Mongiat pitched six scoreless innings and Chaz Reade homered as Edge Academy (6-7) beat On Target (4-10) in South Portland.

Mongiat allowed just three hits and didn’t walk a batter while striking out four.

Bailey Train contributed an RBI single.

AERO HEATING & VENTILATING 6, PATRIOT INSURANCE 3: Connor MacDowell drove in the go-ahead run with an RBI single in the top of the eighth inning as Aero (6-3) beat Patriot (3-2) at Deering Oaks.

MacDowell also hit a two-run double in the sixth as Aero scored three runs to tie the game.

Patriot took a 3-0 lead in the fourth with the help of RBI singles from Pete Stauber and Robbie Hamilton.

BRUNO’S RESTAURANT 7, GORHAM 3: Cam King’s three-run double highlighted a six-run rally in the seventh inning as Bruno’s (11-4) won at Gorham.

Bruno’s also got an RBI single from Cam Brooks. Charles Graffius went the distance on the mound for Bruno’s, giving up three unearned runs on seven hits.

Joe Curesky, David Drew and Will Prescott each had a pair of hits for Gorham.
