I believe that White House senior adviser Stephen Miller’s statements at an Aug. 2 news conference are outrageous, as are his attempts to vilify CNN reporter Jim Acosta for his questioning of Miller’s remarks about immigrants needing to speak English in order to be allowed into the country.

Acosta, a first-generation Cuban-American, reminded Miller of the words of Emma Lazarus engraved on a bronze plaque on the Statue of Liberty: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” Miller then called Acosta “ignorant” and implied that he was un-American.

Stephen Miller should be ashamed of himself for aiding and abetting President Trump’s apparent bias against immigrants.
