A crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 295 in Cumberland caused major delays during the morning commute Monday.

The crash was reported around 7 a.m. near mile 12 southbound in Cumberland, according to emergency dispatchers. Maine State Police and Maine Department of Transportation crews cleared the scene around 8 a.m., but traffic delays extended to Exit 22 in Freeport. According to a dispatcher for the state police, there were no reports of injuries. Weather conditions were foggy when the crash occurred.

No other details were available. Joe Royle, the trooper who investigated the crash, could not be reached Monday evening.
