ORONO — Charlie Kelleher quickly erased Maine’s only lead, and the Black Bears settled for a 3-3 tie with New Hampshire in a Hockey East game Saturday night.

Pearson put Maine (12-9-4, 6-6-3) ahead 3-2 at 8:47 of the third period, only to have Kelleher even things back up at 10:02.

The teams also exchanged goals in each of the first two periods. Smith’s first-period goal countered an early tally by Ara Nazarian. Richard Boyd put UNH back in the lead in the second period, but Pieper tied the game for Maine late in the second.

Jeremy Swayman had 27 saves for Maine, while Danny Tirone stopped 33 shots for New Hampshire (9-11-4, 4-7-3). Both goalies had two saves during overtime.

BOWDOIN 2, MIDDLEBURY 1: Cody Todesco broke a scoreless tie, then assisted on Ronnie Lestan’s goal as the Polar Bears (6-11, 4-8 NESCAC) rode a pair of second-period goals to a victory over Middlebury in Brunswick.

Middlebury got a short-handed goal by Owen Powers 7:48 into the third.

COLBY 4, WILLIAMS 2: Kienan Scott’s goal 6:21 into the game was the first of three in the opening period for the Mules (8-8, 7-5 NESCAC), who held off Williams (10-6, 6-4) in Waterville.

Zack Hale and J.P. Schuhlen also scored in the first, and Cam MacDonald’s put in an empty-netter with 41 seconds left in the game.

UNE 6, WENTWORTH 5: Jeff Eppright had two goals and two assists, and Ryan Bloom scored twice to power the Nor’easters (14-3-2, 7-3-2 Commonwealth Coast) over Wentworth (5-11-3, 3-6-3) in Biddeford.

Eppright’s goals came late in the second and gave UNE a 5-2 lead.

BABSON 2, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Rob Devaney and Ryan Gouveia scored early in the third period, and Bryan Botcher made 33 saves as the Beavers (10-6-2, 8-3-1 New England Hockey) blanked Southern Maine (3-10-4, 3-6-3) in Babson Park, Massachusetts.

BATES 77, TUFTS 75: Nick Gilpin scored on a layup with 13 seconds remaining to lift Bates to a win at Medford, Massachusetts.

Tom Coyne hit a 3-pointer for Bates (9-9, 2-3 NESCAC) with 2:27 left to tie the game at 73. After Luke Rogers scored to put Tufts (12-5, 3-2) up by two, Gilpin made a layup to tie the game with 1:58 left.

Jeff Spellman scored 18 points for Bates. Nick Lynch had 12 points and eight rebounds.

ST. JOSEPH’S 74, ANNA MARIA 69: Darian Berry scored 19 points, Ian Mileikis had 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, and the Monks (10-6, 5-2 GNAC) used an 11-0 run in the second half to get by the Amcats (4-11, 1-5) in Standish for a fourth straight win.

Quinn Richardson-Newton’s layup started the run, putting the Monks ahead 56-55 with 10:18 left. Berry hit a 3-pointer with 7:56 left to push the lead to 65-55.

UNE 87, ENDICOTT 79: Daron Hoges Jr. scored 14 points, hitting four 3-pointers, Alex Kravchuk added 13 points and the Nor’easters (7-9, 5-4 Commonwealth Coast) rallied past the Seagulls (12-5, 7-3) at Biddeford.

UNE took the lead for good when Ryan Beatty made a jump shot with 9:43 left to put the Nor’easters ahead 59-58.

SOUTHERN MAINE CC 82, WILLIAMSON 55: Gregory Trinidad scored 26 points, Ryan Cloutier had 22 and the Seawolves (13-7) beat the Mechanics (8-10) in Media, Pennsylvania.

Dylan Silvestri added 13 points and 18 rebounds.

WESTERN CONNECTICUT STATE 65, SOUTHERN MAINE 56: Fenton Bradley Jr. had 15 points and 11 rebounds and the Colonials (8-7, 5-1 Little East) went on a 21-5 run midway through the second half to get past the Huskies (2-14, 1-5) at Gorham.
