AMHERST, Mass. — Chase Pearson scored a pair of goals to lead the University of Maine men’s hockey team to a 3-2 win over the University of Massachusetts on Saturday night.

Pearson scored in the first and second periods as Maine took a 3-1 lead and held on for the win. The Black Bears (14-9-4, 8-6-3 Hockey East) have a 10-2-4 record in their last 16 games.

Emil Westerlund also scored for Maine, while Brady Keeper, Mitchell Fossier and Eduards Tralmaks each had an assist. Jeremy Swayman made 28 saves.

Mitchell Chaffee and John Leonard scored for Massachusetts (11-14-1, 5-10-1).

UNE 7, BECKER 3: Max Rasberg scored twice to lead the Nor’easters (16-3-2, 9-3-2 CCC) over the Hawks (4-15-1, 2-12) in Biddeford.

Tyler Seltenreich had a goal and three assists for UNE, and Rasberg added two assists. UNE owns the longest active unbeaten streak in Division III, as they are 14-0-1 in their last 15 games.

John Dutney recorded a hat trick for Becker.

HOBART 4, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Andrew Silard scored 34 seconds into the game, and the Statesmen (12-5-4, 9-3-2 NEHC) defeated the Huskies (3-13-14, 3-8-3) in Geneva, New York.

Anthony D’Aloisio recorded 32 saves for Southern Maine.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

MARYLAND-BALTIMORE COUNTY 86, MAINE 74: Jarius Lyles scored 34 points, including seven 3-pointers as the Retreivers (15-8, 6-2 America East) beat the Black Bears (5-18, 2-6) in Baltimore.

Max Curran added 12 points and Joe Sherburne chipped in 11 for UMBC. Isaiah White had a career-high 22 points for Maine.

AMHERST 75, BOWDOIN 60: Michael Riopel scored 18 points, Johnny McCarthy had 17 points and 11 rebounds and the Mammoths (12-6, 5-1 NESCAC) downed the Polar Bears (14-5, 3-3) in Brunswick.

Grant Robinson added 14 for Amherst.

Liam Farley scored 13 points for Bowdoin. David Reynolds added 11.

ST. JOSEPH’S 63, REGIS 57: Ian Mileikis scored 21 points, including the go-ahead bucket with two minutes left, and the Monks (11-7, 6-3 GNAC) beat the Pride (9-9, 6-4) in Standish.

Jack Casale added 11 points off the bench for St. Joseph’s. Darian Berry chipped in with 10.

BATES 69, CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 56: The Bobcats (10-10, 3-4) closed the game on a 23-5 run over the final 8:42 to beat the Camels (6-13, 0-7) at Luce Field House in New London, Connecticut.

Jeff Spellman and Max Hummel each scored 17 points for Bates.

HAMILTON 76, COLBY 67: Michael Grassey scored 18 points, Kena Gilmour added 15 and the Continentals (17-2, 4-2 NESCAC) hit 8 of 10 from the foul line in overtime to hold off the Mules (10-9, 1-5) in Waterville.

Matt Hanna scored 17 points for Colby and hit two free throws with nine seconds left in regulation, tying the game at 58 to force overtime.

Sean Gilmore added 16 for Colby. Sam Jefferson chipped in with 15.

KEENE STATE 77, SOUTHERN MAINE 74: Ty Nichols scored 27 points with seven rebounds and six assists, Dizel Wright added 18 and the Owls (14-5, 8-1 LEC) held off the Huskies (2-17, 1-8) in Gorham.

Christian McCue scored a game-high 36 points, including five 3-pointers, for the Huskies. DJ Anderson added 14.

ROGER WILLIAMS 90, UNE 83: Austin Coene had 22 points and seven steals to lead the Hawks (13-6, 7-5 CCC) over the Nor’easters (8-11, 6-6).

Daron Hoges Jr. had 24 points, including six 3-pointers, and 11 rebounds for the Nor’easters.

(2) VIRGINIA 65, (4) DUKE 63: Kyle Guy scored 17 points and hit two free throws with 6.1 seconds left, and the Cavaliers (20-1, 9-0 ACC) won their 12th straight game and their first at Cameron Indoor Stadim since 1995. Duke falls to 18-3, 6-3.

(5) KANSAS 79, TEXAS A&M 68: Svi Mykhailiuk poured in 24 points and the Jayhawks (17-4) beat the Aggies (13-8) in Lawrence, Kansas.
