BIDDEFORD — Bertram “Buddy” Paige Harriman, 77, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018 at Maine Medical Center in Portland with his loving family by his side.

He was born on Sept. 9, 1940 to Bertram P. and Martha D. (Chadbourne) Harriman in South Portland. He graduated from Thornton Academy in 1960.

On May 25, 1968, he married Nancy Goupil at Notre Dame Church in Saco.

Buddy proudly served in the United States Army. When he returned from his service, he started working at the Saco Tannery. He then went on to Yudy’s Tire in Biddeford, followed by Pratt-Whitney in North Berwick. He then started as a custodian in the Biddeford School District before going to Sweester in Saco. When he was attending Thornton Academy, he was an All-Star baseball player. He loved baseball and loved watching the Red Sox play. He also enjoyed watching the Redskins.

He is preceded in death by his two sisters, Beverly Hebert and Marilyn Guilbeault.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy Harriman of Biddeford; two daughters Michelle Roberts and her husband Scott of Kennebunk and Melissa White and her husband Benjamin of Alfred; two granddaughters Amber Nordmann of Old Orchard Beach and Chelsie Thompson and her husband James of Biddeford; a great-granddaughter Brookelyn Thompson of Biddeford; a great-grandson Jayce Thompson of Biddeford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Buddy’s name may be made to Thornton Academy, In Memory of Lt. Rene A. Goupil, 438 Main St., Saco, ME 04072.
