SACO — M. Christine Savoy, 87, of Saco, passed away late Friday evening, on Feb. 2, 2018 at home.

She was born in Saco on Dec. 25, 1930, a daughter of Harry and Helen (Rice) Boutet. She was a graduate of Thornton Academy, Class of 1949.

Earlier, Christine was employed by the City of Saco as the tax collector for several years. On June 15, 1968, she married her husband Edward. She loved being a homemaker, always willing to take care of the family, watch the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Through her teachings in life, the family has created many wonderful memories that will remain in their hearts forever.

Christine volunteered for the Camp Ellis Fire Department Auxiliary, helping out at many of their social and fundraising events. She also enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and crossword puzzles. She was an avid bowler and a fantastic cook, but only willing to share some of her recipes. Her husband recalls all the fun they had dancing, going out to eat and just being together.

Christine had great faith and was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco.

She was predeceased by her sister Katherine Sawyer, one brother Paul Boutet and by one grandson Matthew Danis.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Edward; four children Jane Gendron and her husband Roger, Karen Danis and her husband Mark, Pamela Danis and her husband Scott, and John Peterson.

She is also survived by five grandchildren Seth Dube, Tom Dube, Ann Gendron, Adam Hebert and Patrick Danis; 11 great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Alexander, Colby, Mary, Adrian, Lucien, Katie, Molly, Alley, Sophia-Ann and Thomas; one brother Edmund Boutet; and many niece and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at Cote Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at Cote Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at a later date.
