FALMOUTH — The historic Town Landing Market on Foreside Road is being updated with a new kitchen designed to help the market expand its growing menu.

Town Landing Market has been a part of the Falmouth community since the late 1800s, according to its website.

“Its presence on Foreside Road has spanned three centuries. It is more than a store. We consider it to be an institution in the community, and it is our responsibility to nurture its legacy,” owner MaryBeth Bachman says on the web page.

“Our mission is to keep the generations-old familiar neighborhood convenience, while bringing more local and sustainable foods to our community,” she says.

And that’s where the new kitchen comes in.

Chef Robin Craves already makes a variety of soups and chowders, along with take-home meals, but the space she had to work in was simply too small and didn’t have all the amenities she needs, Bachman said in a press release.

The kitchen renovation project is expected to run through the end of February, the release said, but in the meantime Craves is using the kitchen at nearby Holy Martyrs Church.

“We are open during the transition and all our staff and neighbors are very excited (about) the renovations,” Bachman said in the press release.

The only things the market won’t have available during the renovation project are it’s own sandwiches and pizzas, Bachman said.
