NORTH BERWICK — Ralph (Punky) Bragdon, 83, of High Street, passed away at his home on March 24, 2018.

He was born in North Berwick on March 18, 1935, son of Edward (Iky) and Olive (Boston) Bragdon. He attended North Berwick schools before going to work driving truck for Benny Newhall, hauling potatoes in Aroostook County. Punky continued his truck driving career with P.R. Boston, Pioneer Plastics, where he hauled cross country then delivering oil for Rowell and Watson and D.F. Richard of Dover, New Hampshire. Punky loved his gardens and was an avid reader and enjoyed watching UConn Women’s basketball games.

In 1956 he married Patsy Grover with whom he loved traveling and going on cruises with their friends. In the summer months they enjoyed Walnut Grove campground for 14 years before moving to the Ogunquit Farm RV park. Punky had a special bond with his daughter, Kathy and granddaughter, Ashley. Memories of canoe trips with his daughter Kathy and attending Bruins, Celtics, Sanford Mainers and U Maine hockey games with his granddaughter, Ashley will forever be fond memories.

Punky was a 57-year member of the Yorkshire Lodge #179 AF & AM of North Berwick; Blue Lodge, 32nd Scottish Rite and KORA Temple Shrine for more than 50 years.

Punky was pre-deceased by his parents and nephew, Jimmy Gray. He will be sorely missed by his wife of 62 years, Patsy A. (Grover) Bragdon; daughter Kathleen Wilkinson and her husband Mark and their daughter Ashley Wilkinson, all of North Berwick; his sister Joan Kaye Shirley and her husband Wayne of Orland, Maine; niece Melanie Shirley and her husband Tom of New York and by Beth (Boston) Smith, who was loved like a second daughter.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market St., North Berwick where a funeral service will be held on Thursday March 29 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in the Hillside Cemetery, North Berwick, ME.
