WATERBORO — Hunter Owen threw a no-hitter with nine strikeouts, and also had two hits and an RBI as South Portland started its baseball season with a 10-0 win Saturday over Massabesic.
Caden Horton collected a single, a double, a triple and three RBI. Horton hit an RBI double during a three-run first inning.
Anthony Perron, Jake Poole and Anthony Poole each added two hits.
SOFTBALL
NOBLE 5, GORHAM 0: Raegan Kelly pitched a four-hitter and collected a pair of hits to lead the Knights (2-0) over the Rams (1-1) in Gorham.
Grace McGouldrick hit a triple and had nine strikeouts for Gorham, which committed five errors.
