KEENE, N.H. — The University of Southern Maine remained on a hot streak Saturday, sweeping a Little East Conference baseball doubleheader from Keene State, 14-1 and 12-3.

The Huskies (24-8, 9-3) have won 20 of their last 23 games.

In the opener, Dylan Hapworth had three hits, including a solo home run, and finished with three runs for USM.

Andrew Olszak added two hits and three RBI, and Dalton Rice struck out seven, and allowed one run and four hits over seven innings against the Owls (14-18, 4-8).

In the second game, Zach Quintal was 3 for 5 with four RBI and a home run for the Huskies.

Jake Dexter finished 4 for 4 with a home run, two RBI and three runs, and Hapworth added another home run and scored three times.

BOWDOIN SWEEPS COLBY: The Polar Bears (14-16, 7-5 NESCAC) used a four-run second inning to get by the Mules (5-22, 1-11) 10-5 in nine innings in the second game at Brunswick.

Sawyer Billings went 3 for 4 and hit a two-run single in the second game for Bowdoin. Brendan O’Neil added a solo home run in the fifth to push the Polar Bears ahead 6-3.

Matt Treveloni and William Wessman each had three hits for Colby.

Bowdoin won the first game 4-1, with Brandon Lopez allowing a run on two hits while striking out six.

BATES, TUFTS SPLIT: Nolan Collins threw a three-hit shutout and the Bobcats (14-13, 7-4 NESCAC) scored three times in the fourth to beat the Jumbos (16-14, 7-4) 5-0 in the opener at Lewiston.

Collins struck out eight and allowed one walk.

Kyler Carter, Connor DiVincenzo and Will Sylvia hit consecutive RBI singles in the fourth to give Bates a 3-0 lead.

Tufts took the second game, 12-2.

SUFFOLK SWEEPS ST. JOSEPH’S: Steve Shamnoski and Rich Gilbride hit back-to-back homers in the sixth inning as Suffolk (19-15, 12-1 Great Northeast Athletic) rallied to win the first game of a doubleheader against the Monks (25-10, 9-3) at Boston, 8-5.

The Rams also won the second game, 8-6.

With Suffolk trailing 5-4 in the sixth, Shamnoski hit a go-ahead two-run homer, and Gilbride padded the lead with his solo homer. Jared Gagne recorded three hits and two RBI for St. Joseph’s, including a double and a triple.

In the second game, Brady Chant, Greg Speliotis and Will Hopkins each drove in two runs for Suffolk. Gagne and Will Martin had two RBI each for St. Joseph’s.

UMBC SWEEPS MAINE: Zach Bright was 2 for 5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs, and Collin Stack added a grand slam for the Retrievers (16-20, 8-6 America East), who won 9-4 in the first game against the Black Bears (11-27, 6-8) at Baltimore.

Jonathan Bennett had two hits and drove in three runs for Maine, which gave up nine unanswered runs after a 4-0 lead.

Raven Breeman was 3 for 3 with three RBI and a home run, and Bright added a two-run homer as UMBC took the second game, 7-4.

Jeremy Pena had two hits and two RBI, including a home run in the fourth inning for Maine.

LACROSSE

SALVE REGINA 13, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 8: Zach Makoske scored three goals to lead the fifth-seeded Seahawks (11-6) over the fourth-seeded Nor’easters (9-9) in the quarterfinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference tournament at Biddeford.

Alex Zadworny scored three goals and Garett Bozek added two for UNE. Tom Luttrell scored for UNE with 11:12 left in the third quarter to make it 7-7 before Salve Regina pulled away.

Tyler Nevers stopped 10 shots for UNE. Matt D’Amore recorded 12 saves for Salve Regina.

WESLEYAN 16, BATES 11: Ronan Jacoby and Cole Turpin each scored four goals to lead the top-seeded Cardinals (13-2) over the eighth-seeded Bobcats (8-8) in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC tournament in Middletown, Connecticut.

Clarke Jones had four goals and three assists for Bates, which trailed 7-2 after the first quarter. Matt Chlastawa added three goals and two assists.

Otta Bohan recorded seven saves for Bates. Mitchell Drake stopped 13 shots for Wesleyan.

AMHERST 24, BOWDOIN 16: Colin Minicus scored seven goals and the second-seeded Mammoths (14-2) had seven straight goals in a 5:28 span of the third quarter to defeat the seventh-seeded Polar Bears (8-7) in the NESCAC quarterfinals at Amherst, Massachusetts.

After trailing early in the third quarter, Brett Kujala scored at 8:35 to bring the Polar Bears within 12-11 before Amherst went on its run.

The Mammoths took a 19-12 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Bradley Ingersoll and Shawn Daly each scored three goals for Bowdoin.

ST. JOSEPH’S 11, RIVIER 10: Michael Finn scored three goals, including the winner in the third overtime, as the fourth-seeded Monks (10-8) beat the fifth-seeded Raiders (6-10) in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference quarterfinals at Standish.

Connor Trainor stopped 12 of 22 shots for the Monks, who will play at top-seeded Norwich in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
