NFL: Ichiro Suzuki of the Seattle Mariners once received a text from Patriots QB Tom Brady, and Suzuki didn’t know him.

Suzuki told Peter Gammons of The Athletic that one morning in 2017 at spring training, he was checking his text messages when he got a note from someone asking him about his stretching routine. The guy said he got his number from Alex Rodriguez.

Suzuki didn’t recognize the guy. One of his coaches asked for the guy’s name, and Suzuki replied: “Some guy named Tom Brady. Who the (expletive) is Tom Brady?”

Suzuki, who is 44, won’t play the rest of this year and is changing roles to take a new front office job with the organization, according to USAToday.
