The Thornton Academy boys lacrosse team is off to an incredible start to the 2018 season and a big part of the Golden Trojans’ success has been the play of senior attacker Noah Edborg.
Edborg has helped the Trojans open the season with a perfect 8-0 record and earn the top spot in the Class A South standings with just four games left in the regular season.

The Trojans’ hot start is the most important thing for Edborg, but the senior has also been able to celebrate a personal milestone as he joined the exclusive 100-goal club this past week.
Edborg, who is just the third player in TA history to score 100 career goals, took some time to talk with me about everything from how he got started with lacrosse to what he will cherish most about his time with the Trojans.
Check out the interview here:
PM: When did you first start getting into lacrosse?
NE: Third grade. At the time all my friends were switching over to go play (lacrosse) and I was like, ‘oh, I might as well go try it out,’ and I’ve loved it ever since.
PM: When did you start to realize you had a chance to be really good?
NE: Sophomore year … I got started at attack finally and it just felt good.
PM: What has it been like coming up through the Thornton Academy system, obviously a lot of great players have come up through here?
NE: It’s been fun. I mean there’s always been good players and I’ve looked up to a bunch of them, and now it feels nice that I have some (younger players) coming up to me and asking me what to do during games, which is kind of what I did to the older guys that I looked up to.
PM: Coming into this year did you know that this team had a chance to be special?
NE: Yea, I knew we were going to be good. We just need to keep getting better every day. We have a really good squad going, we have really good skill players all around.
PM: How big is it to have other great attackers like Tom Levasseur playing with you?
NE: It helps tremendously. Sometimes when I’m not having a great game Tom will step up — like the other day he scored seven against Lewiston when I wasn’t having a great game. It’s just nice to give other kids the spotlight a little bit.
PM: What are the goals for the rest of the year?
NE: Just keep going, working hard every day. The goal is to make it far and stay undefeated.
PM: What did it mean to you to get to that 100-goal mark?
NE: It felt good. I mean not many people have done it in the TA program so it felt nice to be one of the three.
PM: What’s it like playing for Thornton Academy coach Ryan Hersey?
NE: It’s fun. He makes practice really fun. He always wants to go hard, but still wants to make it fun and enjoyable as much as possible.
PM: If someone was looking into giving lacrosse a try what would you tell them? What makes lacrosse so special?
NE: It’s just a fun sport where you come out each day enjoy yourself, have fun, play with your friends and just keep getting better every day. You can pick it up easily.
PM: You have a couple weeks left of your TA lacrosse career, what are the memories you are going to take with you?
NE: Just hanging with the team, coming out here each and every day playing games and practicing and just having fun with the team.
