BIDDEFORD — Jean Paul “Mike” Lizotte passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in Biddeford. He was 91 years young.

Mike was born on June 5, 1927 to Benjamin and Florence (Gaudette) Lizotte. After graduating from St. Louis High School, Mike proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific. On May 29, 1948, Mike married his wife, Fleurette Nadeau, with whom he recently celebrated his 70th wedding anniversary.

As a charismatic people person, he owned and operated Mike’s Market on Harrison Avenue in Biddeford for over 25 years. Mike then began a career in real estate working both independently and with Coldwell Banker for over 30 years. He represented Biddeford in the 109th Maine State Legislature and was a member of the St. Louis Alumni Association, St. Joseph’s Church Parish Council and the Rotary Club.

Mike never met a stranger, and his positivity was contagious. When asked, “Mike, how are you?” he would respond, “Terrrrrrific!” in a way that immediately lifted your spirits and made you smile. The word retirement was not in his vocabulary. Even at 91 years of age, Mike was out the door and on his way to meet friends at the UNE pool for a workout every weekday at 6 a.m. This was something he did faithfully, even on his last day on earth.

Mike was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and could play a mean game of cribbage. Most importantly, Mike was a devoted husband and father, loving Pepere, brother, uncle, and friend to all of those lucky enough to have him in their life.

He was predeceased by his brother, Raymond, in 2006, and by his daughter, Janice, in 2013.
