BIDDEFORD — Robert J. Dube, 96, of Biddeford, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough.

He was born July 29, 1921 in Biddeford a son of Edmond and Aurore (Lamirande) Dube and was educated at St. Andre’s School.

On Jan. 6, 1945 he married Pauline Beaudoin in St. Andre’s Church.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He had worked at the Pepperell Mills for over 25 years.  He then went on to The Saco Tannery and to Simplex before retiring.

Robert was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees.

Robert was preceded in death by Pauline, his wife of 64 years on Nov. 24, 2008, and by his son Roberl L. Dube in September 2012.  He was also predeceased by 15 siblings.

He is survived by three daughters, Priscille Belanger and her husband Rodney of Windham, Diane Lofgren and her husband Eric of Shapleigh and Paulette Provencher and her significant other, John Merrifield of Westbrook; two sisters, Irene Chretien of Biddeford and Cecile Bisson and her husband Rene of Biddeford; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.  A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m on June 29 in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
