CLEVELAND — Michael Brantley homered leading off the eighth inning Sunday and the Cleveland Indians headed into the All-Star break with a 5-2 victory against the New York Yankees to split their four-game series.

Brantley broke a 2-2 tie by belting a pitch from Chad Green (5-2) into the seats in right for his 12th homer. The Indians added two runs in the inning on a sacrifice fly by Yan Gomes and Green’s wild pitch.

Carlos Carrasco (11-5) earned his first win in relief since July 19, 2014. He was available after pitching only five innings in Wednesday night’s 19-4 blowout of Cincinnati.

Cody Allen struck out two in the ninth and got his 20th save in 21 opportunities.

ORIOLES 6, RANGERS 5: Manny Machado homered before making an early exit on a wet day, Adam Jones hit a three-run double and Baltimore rallied at home.

Machado was removed in the fifth inning by Manager Buck Showalter after a 26-minute rain delay, presumably to prevent Machado from playing on a sloppy field. The last-place Orioles are centertaining offers for Machado, who is expected to be dealt before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.

TIGERS 6, ASTROS 3: John Hicks hit one of the four home runs off Justin Verlander, and Detroit won at Houston to snap a six-game losing streak.

WHITE SOX 10, ROYALS 1: Daniel Palka and Yoan Moncada homered, and Lucas Giolito tossed two-hit ball into the seventh inning, lifting Chicago at home.

TWINS 11, RAYS 7: Brian Dozier hit a grand slam in the 10th inning for Minnesota at Minneapolis and cap a testy, back-and-forth finish that featured four lead changes from the bottom of the seventh on.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

MARLINS 10, PHILLIES 5: Brian Anderson hit a three-run homer in an eight-run fifth inning and Miami overcame a five-run deficit at home.

BRAVES 5, DIAMONDBACKS 1: Julio Teheran pitched six-plus scoreless innings and Atlanta used a four-run third inning to win at home.

NATIONALS 6, METS 1: Daniel Murphy and Trea Turner each hit a two-run single in a five-run seventh inning, helping Washington win at New York.

CARDINALS 6, REDS 4: Matt Carpenter and Dexter Fowler homered as St. Louis won at home.

PIRATES 7, BREWERS 6: Josh Bell hit a game-ending two-run double in the 10th inning as Pittsburgh, at home, finished a five-game sweep of Milwaukee for its sixth straight win overall.

CUBS 7, PADRES 4: Jon Lester won for the eighth time in nine starts, Jason Heyward drove in two runs and Chicago completed a sweep at San Diego.

INTERLEAGUE

ROCKIES 4, MARINERS 3: Trevor Story led off the ninth inning with his 20th homer, and Colorado completed a series sweep at Denver.

ATHLETICS 6, GIANTS 2: Stephen Piscotty homered for the fifth time in nine games, and Oakland won at San Francisco.

DODGERS 5, ANGELS 3: Yasmani Grandal homered, Enrique Hernandez hit a solo shot on his first pitch in the seventh inning for the go-ahead run, and Los Angeles won at home to gain a split in the Freeway Series.
