MADAWASKA — Arlene E. Gonneville, 81, of Madawaska and formerly of Saco, passed away on Monday July 16, 2018, at Ridgewood Estates in Madawaska.

She was born in Biddeford on July 11, 1937, a daughter of George and Grace (Cyr) Gagne. She graduated from St. Andre’s High School.

After her wedding to Norman on June 21, 1958, she embraced living on the farm and all its experiences and adventures.  Her gentle nature was visible to all who knew her.  Arlene worked alongside her husband Norman with Gonneville’s Dairy Farms for many years. She also was employed by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for 12 years.  Her welcoming personality was well suited to owning and operating Country Farm Bed and Breakfast for several years.

Family was important to Arlene. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was happiest hosting family gatherings.  With Arlene’s passing we remind ourselves that her life is to be celebrated. Although we will miss her every day, she will remain in our hearts forever.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, Norman.

She is survived by her two sons John L. Gonneville and his wife Janet of Madawaska, Brian N. Gonneville and his wife Denise of Saco and six grandchildren Kayla, Leah, Hannah, Abigail, Robert and Renee. She is also survived by two siblings Robert Gagne and Patricia Cote and many nieces and nephews.
