PORTLAND — A city man faces an elevated aggravated assault charge after allegedly stabbing another man at a concert Sunday.

Joseph Lewis, 27, whose address was not released, was arrested at police headquarters, 109 Middle St., on Monday, Cmdr. James Sweatt said Tuesday.

Lewis was being held at Cumberland County Jail on $3,000 bail pending a court appearance on Wednesday, Oct. 24, Sweatt said.

The alleged stabbing occurred around 11 p.m. at a concert at the State Theater, 609 Congress St. The unidentified victim, a 29-year-old man from Norway, met police in the theater lobby before being taken to Maine Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening, Sweatt said.

The incident remains under investigation, Sweatt added.
