ROCKLAND — The Brunswick High School girls’ lacrosse team closed out its regular season with a solid 15-4 victory over Oceanside on Tuesday. 

Emily Cloutier led the way for the Dragons with five goals, with Lila Solberg adding four goals and Mackenzie Dorr two.

Rian Sachs, Amanda Cloutier, Gia Guernelli and Charlotte MacMillan pitched in a goal each in the win, while Mikaela Aschbrenner turned away 19 shots. 

Oceanside received a goal each from Mattie Hooper, Hope Butler, Gabby Straka and Caileigh Pease. 

The Dragons currently are in the sixth place in the Class B Heal Point Standings.

At Hyde School in Bath, the Eagles outscored the Red Eddies, 5-2, in the second half for a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win. 

Mt. Ararat finished the regular season with a 5-7 record and currently sits in ninth place in the Heal Point Standings, just two points out of seventh and a home preliminary.

Jess Cloutier tallied four goals in the win, while Reese Turcotte picked up a key goal. Amanda Pickens turned away eight shots in Mt. Ararat’s cage.

Boys lacrosse

FREEPORT — Evan Owen broke loose for six goals and two assists as Freeport rolled to a 20-6 Western Maine Conference win over St. Dom’s. 

“We went from winning once last season, and three each of the previous two years, to seven wins this year. We are looking forward to playing in our first Class C tournament,” said Freeport coach Geoff Arris, whose Falcons are 7-4 and visit York on Friday.

Kaleb Barrett tacked on four goals and two helpers in the win, while Steel Crawford, Sam Larochelle, Charlie Ngoal, Cole Daly, Justin Cogswell and Deven Hannan added to the scoring output for Freeport. 

Softball

NEWCASTLE — Dory Kulis allowed just one hits as Morse held on for a 3-1 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Lincoln Academy. 

The Shipbuilders are 11-4 and slated to visit Gray-New Gloucester on Thursday at 4 p.m. 

Morse scored two runs in the second and tacked on a run in the third. Anastasia Alaboudi picked up an RBI double, with singles going to Paige Faulkingham, Kulis, Abby Carpenter, Kali Pierce and Julia Goddard. 

Kulis fanned seven and walked two.

Lincoln Academy’s lone hit was a triple by Lizzie Ober. Pitcher Grace Houghton fanned nine in the Eagles’ loss.
