Jason Holland

ALFRED – A local man whom police say allegedly attempted to run over his former girlfriend twice and threatened her with a gun has been arrested.

Maine State Police from Troop A in Alfred arrested Jason Holland, 36, of Alfred a day after the incident took place on Waterboro Road in Alfred.

Troopers were dispatched to the home around 8 p.m. Tuesday. Police said Holland threatened the woman with a firearm, attempted to run her over with his truck – twice – and then sped away.

Police said they looked for Holland that night, to no avail, and learned a day later he was in the Sanford area. He was located Wednesday night at a home in Sanford. Police in a social media posting said Holland attempted to run away but was apprehended.

Holland is charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, domestic violence reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon – both Class C felonies that could put him behind bars for up to five years, if he is  convicted at trial.

He was taken to the York County Jail where bail was set at $10,000.

He was scheduled to make a first court appearance on Friday.
