Maine Women’s Giving Tree is launching of its annual grant cycle with an invitation to local non-profits to submit Letters of Intent by Nov. 1.
“For eleven consecutive years, this mid-coast philanthropic organization of women has supported new and continuing efforts to improve the lives of women, children and families in communities stretching from Freeport to Wiscasset,” states a news release. “The Letter of Intent is the first step local groups must take to have their projects considered for funding. If the Letter of Intent describe a project that fits the mission of MWGT, the group may be invited to apply for a portion of the $50,000 to be awarded in this 2019-2020 grant cycle. Last year, grants were given to twelve organizations for projects that provided a wide variety of services including art therapy, teen mentoring, elder care and shelter.”
Maine Women’s Giving Tree has awarded nearly $300,000 to local organizations.
