BANGOR — A Maine man has succumbed to his injuries after a fire broke out in his kitchen.
Firefighters pulled 59-year-old Berton “Bert” Conley out of his Bangor home and brought him to a hospital Friday morning. Carroll Conley Jr. tells Bangor Daily News his brother died later that day.
Carroll Conley calls his brother a “one-of-a-kind” person who will be missed by his family and friends. Bert Conley had four children.
The Bangor Fire Department says the state fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
The department declined to release additional information about Bert Conley’s death.
