I want to publicly thank Superintendent Xavier Botana and Portland Public Schools for researching, writing and publishing the public report on the June 2020 allegations.
Although it was not easy to read the substance of the report, the report itself was clear. Portland Public Schools and our community now have a mandate to address the concerns raised by students and alumni in June 2020. Going forward, we can work to measurably improve the reporting systems for students in our schools who experience fear and discrimination. This is so important.
