ARUNDEL – There’s a three-way race for two, three-year terms on the board of selectmen in Arundel and another three-way race for two, three-year terms on the budget board, but there are no candidates for a number of elected positions in the June 8 election.

In the running for the selectmen board are incumbents Daniel Dubois and Philip Labbe, along with Rodney Sparkowich.

Absentee ballots in Arundel will be available starting Monday, May 10, during office hours, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The Arundel Municipal Building is located at 257 Limerick Road. The absentee ballot drop box outside the building will be available. Dan King photo

Seeking the three-year budget board seats are incumbents Michelle Allen and Shawn Hayes, along with Michael Monk.

There is a three-year term for RSU 21 Board of Directors. Incumbent Devon Havey is not seeking re-election. In addition, there are openings for two, two-year terms on the budget board, and for two, one-year terms on the budget panel.

Nominations closed April 9.

As for the vacancies, Town Clerk Emily Nedeau said there is an opportunity for write-ins and, ultimately, if there are no candidates, the selectmen could appoint residents to fill vacancies.

Nedeau said absentee ballots will be available starting Monday, May 10, and are available during office hours, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The municipal building, located at 257 Limerick Road, is closed on Fridays. The absentee ballot drop box outside the building will be available.

In-person voting will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the municipal building on June 8.
