BIDDEFORD — Recently, the Birding Club at the University of New England in Biddeford raised $2,089 for the Biddeford Food Pantry by hosting a “Big Day” — a 24-hour bird-watching event funded by 31 sponsors.
The group birded for 24 straight hours starting in Kennebunkport and ending at Timber Point in Biddeford. They traveled to 17 different locations and logged 97 individual species of birds.
