The Westbrook Little League is hosting country band American Ride Sunday afternoon in a concert to raise money for the league.

The goal of the May 23 event, sponsored by American Real Estate, is to sell 200 tickets and raise $5,000 to pay for the league’s insurance, league treasurer Melissa Remington said.

“Raising the money is important, it goes directly to the children, and it’s been so great to see them out playing,” Remington said.

Patrons will sit on two of the three fields and the band will perform from the softball field at the Little League Complex at 429 Bridge St. Concert-goers are asked to remain distanced and follow CDC guidelines. Concession stands will deliver orders to patrons to avoid long lines.

“We have a lot of space here, I think it is going to be a great time,” Remington said.

The league runs entirely on volunteers who take care of the equipment and field maintenance. The concert will be the league’s biggest fundraiser this year.

The show begins at 1 p.m. Sunday, with parking at the Community Center across the street. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased by sending the money through the Venmo app to “Westbrook Little League 207.”

After receiving the money, Remington will reach out with a food order form and field seating assignment.
