Libraries combine for Zoom session on Zero Waste

Kennebunk Free Library and South Berwick Public Library will host Julie Olson of Zero Waste ME on Monday, June 28, at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom. Learn how Olson has reduced her household’s trash by more than 85 percent and how to make less trash using a variety of practical skills and strategies.

Olson is a librarian and lifelong learner who shares her suburban home with her husband, son, and rescue pets. A dedicated maker and a supporter of eating and shopping locally, Olson loves finding strategies and resources that support zero waste and spreading the word with others.

Residents earn So. New Hampshire recognition

Southern New Hampshire University announced the following students were named to the winter 2021 dean’s list:

The winter term runs from January to May.

One month left in Beanstack Challenge

It’s the last month for the MSBA Challenge on Beanstack at Kennebunk Free Library.

Through June 30, students in grades 4-8 can earn a virtual badge for every Maine Student Book Award title read and reviewed. Readers will also earn a raffle ticket for a $25 gift card to Amazon.

The library will select two winners on July 1. The raffle is open only to Kennebunk Free Library patrons. To register for this challenge, visit kennebunklibrary.beanstack.org. Participants that have previously registered on Beanstack may use their existing login information. Each student participating will need to make their own profile.

Book stacks for children available

Patrons can borrow a stack of library items handpicked by a librarian. Kennebunk Free Library staff will choose some materials. A library card is required. If interested, participants should fill out the Google Form and provide the library information about interests. Arundel release election information

The town of Arundel will hold the municipal election and RSU 21 referendum on Tuesday, June 8 at the Arundel Municipal Building, 257 Limerick Road, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Registration of new voters, as well as changes of name or address, may be made with the registrar at the town office during regular business hours of Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or at the polls on Election Day.

Residents may request an absentee ballot or vote in person at the town clerk’s office without a specific reason until 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 3. After that date, an absentee ballot can only be obtained for special circumstances. A telephone request can be made by the voter as well.
