Twenty years. That’s how long I’ve known at-large Charter Commission candidate Anthony Emerson.
In that time, I’ve borne witness to his passion, which he always shares with the people around him. From sports to politics, when Anthony cares about something, he is all in.
He commits himself to learning as much as he can, whenever he can. I can still remember lively conversations on the way to school, seeming to burst with Anthony’s electric and infectious energy. His excitement was always a constant in these conversations, as was his knowledge.
It is because of this I know he will make an excellent member of the Charter Commission. He will bring excitement, passion and a strong desire to make Portland a better place for everyone. This is not the first nor last time Anthony Emerson will be on a ballot. I urge you all to rank him in your top four June 8.
