Adam Peterson

Adam Peterson is the son of Matthew and Catherine Peterson. During high school, Adam was a member of the Interact Club, Natural Helpers, and the Reading Team, along with participating in band all four years. He was selected for the Southern Maine District Honors Band in his sophomore year. Adam has competed in Soccer, Cross Country, Track and Field, as well as Tennis. He received the Rochester Institute of Technology Creativity Book Award his junior year. Adam will be attending Clemson University in the fall.

Gracie Murnane

Gracie Murnane is the daughter of Sage and Mike Murnane. Gracie enjoyed participating in ECOS, RSVP, and the Civil Rights Club in addition to theater productions like the One Act Play and Ms. Becker and Mr. Westley’s Shakespeare performances. She earned awards for achievement in foreign language, social studies, and English throughout her time at SHS. Gracie will be attending Boston College in the fall.

Sofia Durdag

Sofia Durdag is the daughter of Mary Starr and Kerem Durdag. Sofia was the Recycling Coordinator of the Environmental Club of Scarborough, the VP of the Reducing Sexism and Violence Program, on the Key Club Board, and a part of NHS. During all four years she participated on the volleyball team, and made varsity her junior year. She received the Wellesley Book Award and won first place in the Margaret Chase Smith Essay Contest. Sofia will be attending Carleton College in the fall.

Anne MacLeod

Anne MacLeod is the daughter of Kenneth and Karen MacLeod. During all four years of high school, Anne was a member of the Gym Dandies Children’s Circus and the Scarborough High School Band. She also participated in the Ecology Club of Scarborough, the Buddy System, and the ACE Mentor Program. Anne received the Rochester Institute of Technology Creativity Award and awards for excellence in Chemistry and Latin. She will be attending Gordon College in the fall.

Reshika Sai Devarajan

Reshika Sai Devarajan is the daughter of Bhargavi and Ramaswamy Devarajan. Reshika Sai was the secretary for the Environmental Club of Scarborough (ECOS) and head of the Garden Subcommittee of ECOS. She served as a Key Club board member, and was part of Interact Club, Math Team, Natural Helpers, Academic Decathlon, and National Honors Society. She volunteered as a Junior Volunteer at Maine Medical Center throughout high school, and was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Honors and awards Reshika Sai has received during high school include the Seal of Biliteracy, and various medals at the Academic Decathlon state and national competitions. Reshika Sai will be attending Northeastern University in the fall.

Sawyer McFadden

Sawyer McFadden is the daughter of Carey Hunt-McFadden and Don McFadden. Sawyer is the vice president of Scarborough High School’s National Honor Society and has been a member of this organization for the past two years. During all four years of high school she participated in Key Club and played on the girl’s lacrosse team, in which she was a co-captain of the JV team her sophomore year. She was also on a competitive dance team her freshman year and was a part of the indoor track team her sophomore year. Sawyer was on honor roll all throughout high school and plans on attending Emmanuel College in the fall.

Gavin McLeod

Gavin McLeod is the son of Amy and Richard McLeod. Gavin has been a swimmer for Coastal Maine Aquatics since 2nd grade and the Varsity Swim Team all four years of high school, earning a long list of swimming awards including Swimmer of the Year and Class A State Champ in the 500 freestyle.  He is an active member of the National Honors Society and has worked at the Lobster Shack since he was 14 years old.  Gavin was awarded the St. Thomas College Junior Book award and has been recognized for his dedication to science and outstanding achievements in French and Social Studies.  Gavin will be attending Bowdoin College where he will work towards a dual degree in Physics and Engineering and swim for the Bowdoin Polar Bears.

Alison Kueck

Alison Kueck is the daughter of Cindy and Rodger Kueck. Alison was the Stage Manager for Oak Hill Players, Scarborough One Act Play, Shakespeare, and for Scarborough Middle School for four years. Alison was also a member of the National Honor Society, and a proud participant of the MMCRI High School Biomedical Research Program. Alison has earned several academic, musical, and theatrical honors over her four years at Scarborough High School. She plans to attend the University of Maine for Medical Laboratory Science next year, and has been accepted to Boston University for Biology with a specialization in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Genetics following her freshman year.

Shynitha Pulluri

Shynitha Pulluri is the daughter of Srinivas Pulluri and Swathi Vollala. Shynitha was the Treasurer of the Environmental Club of Scarborough for two years and was an active member of Academic Decathlon, Math Team, Key Club, and Interact. During all four years of high school, she served as a volunteer at Maine Medical Center, was a part of various career-oriented opportunities, and participated in other extracurriculars like dancing. She has also received the University of Rochester Bausch + Lomb Book Award, been on the Honor Roll for all four years, and earned the President’s Volunteer Service Award for her service in high school. In the fall, Shynitha Pulluri will be attending Baylor University.

Abigail Mosher

Abigail Mosher is the daughter of Jo Anne and Christopher Mosher. Abby was a Key Club member and Student Council representative each year of high school and Student Council President her senior year. She was also a member of NHS her junior and senior year. Abby volunteered at Wentworth Intermediate School’s Literacy Club for four years and is a scoliosis peer mentor at Atlantic Procare in Portland. Abby was a competitive dancer as well as a teacher/choreographer at Encore Dance Company. She was a member of SHS JV Field Hockey her freshman year and Varsity Field Hockey Manager her sophomore year due to injury. She received the Rotary Youth Leadership Award Scholarship, the award for Most Outstanding 11th Grade English Student as well as the Saint Michael’s College Junior Book Award. She was also one of the high school morning announcers her senior year. Abby will be attending College of Charleston Honors College majoring in Biology on a Pre-Med track.

Jay Krithivas is the son of Julie and Krishna Krithivas. Jay was the secretary of Student Council, treasurer of the Reducing Sexism and Violence Program, a member of the Social-Emotional Learning and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committees, and an auditorium lighting technician. He was also a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club Board, and the Environmental Club of Scarborough. He is a recipient of the George Washington University Book Award, and a winner of the National Merit Scholarship. Jay will be attending Northeastern University in the fall.

Mia Ranello

Mia Ranello is the daughter of Tom and Julia Ranello. Mia was the Vice President of the Environmental Club of Scarborough, a member of the Reducing Sexism and Violence Program, and a member of the National Honor Society. During all four years she was a part of the Gifted and Talented arts program, and during three years she participated on the tennis team. She received the Phi Beta Kappa book award. Mia will be attending Bucknell in the fall.

Tatum Hayward

Tatum Hayward is the daughter of Jen and Chris Hayward. Tatum was the president of The Buddy System club, and a member of the National Honor Society. During her four years of high school, Tatum participated in many after school volunteer activities. She will be attending University of Maine at Orono in the fall and will be majoring in Elementary Education.

Christopher Davis

Christopher Davis is the son of Gary and Patricia Davis. Chris was a member of the National Honor Society for two years and President his senior year. He was a member of Outdoor Track and Field for three years and a band member for all four years. Over the course of two summers, Chris volunteered over 400 hours with First and Second Graders as a part of Scarborough Community Services’ Summer Rec Program. For the past two years, he has worked after school as a child-care counselor. As a rising Junior, Chris attended a pre-collegiate Aerospace Engineering program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. In addition to receiving Honors and High Honors throughout High School, Chris received the Computing Medal Award from Rochester Institute of Technology and the AP Scholar with Distinction Award. Chris will be attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute this fall, majoring in Aerospace Engineering.

Harshini Chaganti

Harshini Chaganti is the daughter of Venu and Sudha Chaganti. Harshini was the treasurer of the National Honor Society and a member of Academic Decathlon, Math team, Interact Club, and Civil Rights Club. During all four years of high school, she participated in cross country, indoor, and outdoor track, serving as co-captain of the cross-country team her senior year. Honors and/or awards that Harshini has received in high school include the President’s volunteer service award, three AD state championships, and being a semifinalist in the Presidential Scholars Program. Harshini will be attending Pennsylvania State University in the fall as a part of their combined 7-year BS/MD program.

Jordan Fogarty

Jordan Fogarty is the daughter of Susan and Corey Fogarty. Jordan participated in Key Club all four years of high school serving as a board member, bulletin editor, and finally Lieutenant Governor of Division 6 her senior year. Jordan was also a member of the National Honor Society and Natural Helpers. Honors and awards Jordan has received in high school include attending Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and receiving most outstanding student in Spanish I, English, and Physics. Jordan will be attending Union College in the fall.

Casey Maddock

Casey Maddock is the daughter of Warren and Melissa Maddock. Casey is the Senior Student Representative to the Maine State Board of Education and was Co-Chair to the first and second Student Advisory Cabinet. She participated in Key Club all four years of high school, serving as VP for the last two. Honors and awards Casey received in high school include outstanding achievement in multiple french courses and honors biology, as well as the Sandy Nininger Award for volunteerism, and the Presidential Volunteer Award. Casey will be attending the University of Maine in the fall.

William Arpin

William Arpin is the son of Matthew Arpin. Will was a member of the National Honor Society, Natural Helpers and played on the soccer, indoor track and lacrosse teams. Honors/awards that Will has received include: the Clarkson Book award, National Merit Scholarship Finalist, and co-best math student grade 12. William will be attending The University of Virginia in the fall to study biomedical engineering.

Aiden Joyce

Aidan Joyce is the son of Katherine and Kevin Joyce. Aidan played soccer and lacrosse for all four years at the High School, and co-captained both teams his senior year. He was also a member of the National Honor Society and the SHS Math Team. Honors that Aidan has received include National Merit Scholar, Class Salutatorian, and Co-Best Math Student Grade 12. Aidan will be attending United States Military Academy, West Point in the fall.

Lena Wood

Lena Wood is the daughter of Erin Force and Dave Wood. Throughout high school, Lena participated in math team, Academic Decathlon, band, cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track, serving as co-captain of the cross-country team her senior year. She was Valedictorian of the Class of 2021 and received awards including the National Merit Scholarship, National AP Scholar, Cornell Book Award, and three Academic Decathlon team state championships. Lena was also a two-time winner of the state pi memorization competition (681 digits). She will be attending Johns Hopkins University next year, where she plans to major in neuroscience.

Alyssa Desveaux Stacey Kane

Alyssa Desveaux is the daughter of Roger and Maureen Desveaux. Alyssa was a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club. Throughout her four years of high school she participated in softball where the team won two state championship titles. She also participated in volleyball and swimming where she was recognized as an All Academic All American. Alyssa will be attending the University of North Carolina Wilmington in the fall. She was accepted into the honors college and will be studying nursing.

Allison Derrick

Allison Derrick is the daughter of Mike and Dina Derrick. Allison was a member of the SHS Volleyball team, Environmental Club of Scarborough, National Honor Society, Gym Dandies through sophomore year, and Outdoor Track senior year. Allison participated in the 2019 Winslow Homer summer fellowship program at the Portland Museum of Art. She has won two gold medals and one silver medal from the National Latin Exam and SHS awards in Visual Arts and achievement in Latin. Allison will be attending Lafayette College in the fall.

Maggie Amann Stacey Kane

Maggie Amann is the daughter of Peter and Colleen Amann. She has been class president for the last three years, Key Club president for two years, co-founded the Scarborough Anti-Racism Coalition in spring 2020, and is a member of the National Honor Society. During all four years of high school, Maggie has participated in volleyball, indoor track, and outdoor track, serving as captain of the track team her senior year. Maggie is a National Merit Scholar, and has received other honors such as the Maine Seal of Biliteracy, Presidential Service Award, Yale Book Award, and various Leadership Awards. Maggie will be attending Bates College in the fall.

Audrey Small

Audrey Small is the daughter of Jeff and Leigh Small. Audrey has been a member of the Key Club for four year and now serves as the Key Club Treasurer. She is the Vice President of the Buddy System and was recently inducted into to the National Honor Society.  Audrey will be attending The Falk College of Sports and Human Dynamics at Syracuse University in the fall.

Grace Dittmer

Grace Dittmer is an avid writer and aspiring author. The daughter of Dave and Marie Dittmer, Grace is a member of the National Honors Society, Key Club, the Shakespeare Club’s production of Macbeth, the Scarborough High School Reading Team, the Gym Dandies Children’s Circus, Scarborough Acapella, Scarborough Wind Ensemble and Pep Band, and the Scarborough Varsity Volleyball Team. She has received the AP Scholar with Honors Award, the RIT Book Award, and the Gym Dandies Cahill Award. Perhaps her favorite accomplishments come from her writing. Grace’s debut novel won a gold key in the Regional Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and a silver medal in the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Her poems The Writer and Inevitability, and her short story Deadline will be published soon. Grace will attend Loyola University Maryland this fall and will probably continue to spend an inordinate amount of time writing.
