As a dog walker in my Westbrook neighborhood, I’d say that most people who live here recycle adequately. But about a quarter of my neighbors don’t. I see lots of trash, from plastic bags to kitty litter, stuffed into the blue recycling bins. It’s disappointing to think that if this disregard continues we will all end up having to buy trash bags like Portland residents are required to do.
