Select Board hiring assistant to support group, town departments
The Select Board is hiring an assistant/human resource and welfare director to provide secretarial, administrative and technical support to the board, the solid waste manager and the chairperson of the Budget Committee. The assistant also serves as the town’s insurance administrator.

Child care counselor
Buxton Recreation Department has an opening for a senior child care counselor, according to a posting on the town’s website. Applicants should be at least 21 years of age and possess leadership skills. Duties will include working with staff, greeting parents and campers, assigning other counselors, supervising children and planning activities.

The Westbrook American reported Feb. 7, 1962, that Margaret Eaton and Marion Hague were named hostesses when the Dorcas Society of Hollis and Buxton was to meet at the Parish House in Bar Mills.
