SCARBOROUGH — The Scarborough Police Department Community Policing Unit is partnering with Len Libby’s Candies in Scarborough to be a stand-in Valentine for local Scarborough residents.

If you know of someone that has lost their special Valentine this year or within the last two years, the Scarborough Police would like to be a stand-in Valentine this year. Anyone can submit a name whether it be your own or someone else’s, just as long as the recipient lives in Scarborough.

“Once I have the list, I will contact Len Libby’s who we work with all the time, and we will give them the number of recipients,” said Community Resource Officer Steve Thibodeau. “Then once the gifts are ready, we will pick them up and arrange for delivery. Some recipients want to be surprised and some do not. I do all the arranging with the person that submitted the recipient by phone or text. Then my team will go to the recipients’ residence and explain why we are there and give them a gift. I am also working with school resource officers to see if kids will make homemade cards for them.”

If you would like to sign up or you would like to sign up for a loved one you can fill out the google doc or you can reach out to Sergeant Thibodeau for more  information at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeWWockWyhs6spbkf5J7kOeYS8vq-eLy3lYAW-DKHF7Xd5Vkw/viewform
