AUGUSTA — Grace Allen scored 11 points, Peyton Chaisson got six of her eight points in the fourth quarter, and fourth-seeded Forest Hills upset top-seeded Valley 34-29 in a Class D South girls’ basketball semifinal Thursday at the Augusta Civic Center.

Kylie Yu also had eight points for Forest Hills (13-7), which will play for the regional title on Saturday against No. 3 Seacoast Christian.

Madeline Hill paced Valley (14-2) will 15 points. Brielle Hill added nine.

WISDOM 61, MACHIAS 25: Lilly Roy scored nine of her 21 points during a 20-0 surge in the second quarter as the second-seeded Pioneers (17-1) routed the No. 3 Bulldogs (14-5) in a Class D South semifinal in Bangor.

Wisdom, which broke away from an 11-11 tie after the first quarter, will play for the regional title Saturday against No. 1 Southern Aroostook.

Abbie Leeman added 17 points and Olivia Ouellette chipped in with 14.

Machias was led by Skyler Tinker with seven points.

SOUTHERN AROOSTOOK 69, SCHENCK 23: Cami Shields poured in 12 of her 24 points in the first quarter to fuel a 24-4 run for the top-seeded Warriors as they easily handled the fifth-seeded Wolverines (14-7) in a Class D North semifinal at Cross Insurance Center.

Emmalee Landry added 14 points – 12 in the second half – while Madison Russell tossed in 10.

Abbi Perreault led Schenck with 11 points.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

DIRIGO 66, MT. ABRAM 38: Dakota Thompkins led three Cougars in double figures with 17 points as third-seeded Dirigo (16-5) rolled to a Class C South semifinal win over the seventh-seeded Roadrunners (13-8) in Augusta.

Thompkins and Nathaniel Wainwright each made three 3-pointers for Dirigo. Wainwright finished with 14 points and Charlie Houghton scored 13.

Payton Mitchell (12 points) was the only player in double figures for Mt. Abram.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 44, WAYNFLETE 27: Manny Calder scored 17 points, and Hunter Frost got 10 of his 12 points in the second half as the fifth-seeded Mustangs (13-4) pulled away from the No. 8 Flyers (10-10) in a Class C South semifinal in Augusta.

Monmouth broke open a close game with a 17-7 edge in the fourth quarter.

Ed Cox scored 10 points for Waynflete.

SOUTHERN AROOSTOOK 71, SCHENCK 42: The second-seeded Warriors (18-1) bolted out to a 25-2 lead in the first quarter and extended it to a 44-7 halftime advantage as they easily handled the sixth-seeded Wolverines (10-11) in a Class D North semifinal in Bangor.

Hunter Burpee led Southern Aroostook with 25 points. Dylan Burpee added 17.

Schenck’s Kaden Hannan scored 19 points.

MACHIAS 72, WISDOM 34: Shane Feeney and Kashman Feeney combined for 17 points during a 21-9 surge in the second quarter as the top-seeded Bulldogs (17-0) took control against the fourth-seeded Pioneers (13-6) in a Class D North semifinal at Bangor.

Shane Feeney got nine of his 28 points in the second quarter, helping Machias build a 32-15 halftime lead.

Kashman Feeney finished with 19 points and Kyle Anderson scored 10 for the Bulldogs.

Wisdom was paced by Carter Pelletier with 11 and Dominque Gendreau with 10.
