SOUTH PORTLAND — A & C Grocery is moving to South Portland where it will re-open as the A & C Soda Shop this summer.
The new shop will be located at the former Terra Cotta Pasta building at 501 Cottage Road. The menu will now offer soups, salads, and dishes like Moules Frites and crab cakes while still keep old favorites like cheeseburgers and Italian sandwiches.
Since the store is operating as a soda shop, it will offer delicious treats including floats, milkshakes and herbal tonics. Beer on draft and in cans will be offered as well as wine-based slushies.
The popular market and lunch spot originally located at Washington Avenue in Portland opened in 2017 as a neighborhood grocery store and transitioned into a sandwich shop. The shop closed in 2021 with the plans to relocate the business.
