When the founders wrote the Constitution, they did it to “form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

As we celebrate our nation’s birthday, I would like the Supreme Court majority to explain how its decisions in Citizens United v. U.S., McCutcheon v. FEC, Shelby v. Holder, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, and West Virginia v. EPA meet those objectives.
