In the July 3 article about Paul LePage starting up his new quest to eliminate income tax if elected governor really showed his ignorance.

I was interested to read about his “new” plan but then, when he said “we have so many of our seniors that leave us for six months and a day because of the income tax,” I knew the old Paul LePage was back.

I always thought seniors left Maine for Florida to avoid the cold winters, but I guess I was wrong. I guess we should call them “Taxbirds” instead of “Snowbirds.” I lived in New Hampshire before moving to Maine and their no income or sales tax was made up for with excessively high property taxes.

The money to run the state has to come from somewhere, so don’t be fooled by his “we will figure it out as we go” talk.
