Letters and applications are being mailed out this week to previous applicants as Cumberland lays the groundwork for its annual senior tax assistance program in early August.
To be eligible for the program, residents 70 or older must have lived in Cumberland for a minimum of 10 years and have an annual household income that does not exceed $91,000.
A staff member will review applications at Cumberland Town Hall from 9-11 a.m. Aug. 1-2, and from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 3.  Residents should bring their application and a 2021 tax filing or 1099 or another form to document income. Renters must also include a copy of their lease.
Questions may be directed to Whitney Miller at 558-9124 or wmiller@cumberlandmaine.com.
