I think the daily COVID hospitalization numbers that the newspaper runs are lacking detail. Such as: If the count is 120, how long have they been there? How many have been recently admitted? How many were admitted because of COVID or just tested positive and are there for other medical reasons? What is the average length of stay for those admitted because of COVID infection?
I think stating just the daily count does not really tell us much. I’m guessing this kind of information is not readily available, though, and would require too much research.
